Bronze – Overall Supreme Champion Beer – Bishops Farewell
Gold – Champion Premium Bitter – Bishops Farewell
Bronze – Champion Bitter & Pale Ale – Inferno
More prestigious awards to add to our collection coming off the back of our victory in the SIBA East Region Final 2009 (detailed in our previous news article).
Congratulations to all the other brewers that made it into the finals, yet again some fantastic beers and breweries showing off their talents. Well done all, cheers!
We are so pleased to announce that we have just been crowned SUPREME CHAMPION WINTER BEER OF BRITAIN 2009 with our outstanding and exceedingly drinkable strong ale Attila!!
Getting to the final and winning against some outstanding beers and brewers is fantastic, and something that all at the brewery are extremely proud of – being as its one of all our favourite tipples!
So, here’s to John and Alex for continuing to brew such wonderful top quality beer!

We are extremely happy to annonce that Hawse Buckeler scooped WORLDS BEST STRONG DARK ALE, WORLDS BEST DARK ALE, and was RUNNER UP in the WORLDS BEST OVERALL BEER.
Hawse Buckler, which was originally produced as a one off as an annual special for Peterborough Beer Festival 2006, went through stages of blind tasting by a selection of leading journalists, retailers, brewers, and other qualified tasters from around the world to become the best in its style. They were up against hundreds of entries from the UK, Europe, United States, Austrailia.

The fight to save the Brewery Tap goes on!
The 14,500 strong petition was submitted to the Principal Planning Officer at Bridge Street council offices on Monday 18 February 2008. A response to the North Westgate development plan is due from the council by the end of March 2008. The petition is ongoing and your support is much appreciated and crucial. Once a month (the second Wednesday), Charters hosts “A pint of poetry” – your chance to have a drink with friends whilst being entertained by a variety of poetry and short drama performances.

Since starting the Sunday afternoon Blues, things have been going well with more and more people are turning up for a relaxing afternoon session of great blues, great beer, great food and great views. The range of bands has increased to allow us to bring you better and bigger artists from all over the country and hopefully abroad.
